There are lots of different childcare options out there, and nannies can really be a hugely practical and perfect solution for many families. And far more cost effective than you might ever imagine.

Nannies can work in so many different ways. They can be full time or part time, covering anything from over 50 hours a week right down to just a single day or even just a few hours a day. You can find nannies for before and after school, holidays, weekends, nights, days and emergencies.

And you certainly don’t need to be working full time to have a nanny… even if you work on an ad hoc basis or maybe shifts, a nanny can be the answer.

They can offer bags of flexibility, crucial if you don’t work a 9 to 5 job. And because they come to you they really can help take the stress out of the work and family balancing act.

Imagine no more juggling nursery and school runs on your way to and from work, bundling the children up and out with you in the morning to get to the nursery or childminder on time, rushing to get back from work in time for pick ups, or taking time off when your child is ill.

It can be hard when your well thought out childcare arrangements break down or you just find yourself suddenly in need of help, even on an adhoc basis. We will always do everything we can to come up with an immediate solution that works for you.

Maternity Nannies

Maternity nannies are there to step in and support you immediately after the birth. They will help with routines, sleeping and feeding and be a invaluable source of advice. They can be available for as long as you need, and we particularly have flexible maternity nannies who will happily do occasional/ad hoc nights or even days.


Postnatal doulas typically start working with with a family in the first few months after birth, but some doulas do work with families with older babies too. Postnatal doulas are booked antenatally, for instance when a family finds they are struggling or feel the need for more support. The length of time a postnatal doula spends with a family varies enormously... from the initial 6-8 weeks, to years in some cases.
Postnatal doulas provide emotional, practical and informational support. This support varies enormously, and they are there to support the family. This can be help around the house, looking after baby while mum (and her partner) nap, helping with older siblings, making meals, helping with dinner time or the school run, helping overnight so the parents get more sleep.

Before and After School Nannies

we have a great deal of experience with this. It needn’t be as difficult to solve as you may be led to believe! A lot may depend on the total sum of your requirements. If you need before and after school care, full time childcare during all school holidays, standby care in case of emergencies and possibly some element of housekeeping, then this may well be a style of job that will appeal to nannies.

Even if you just need very part time out of school care then again it is possible - it may be that the small amount of work you are offering may well link up with some other part time work the nanny has, or it may be suitable for a teaching assistant or similar, or possibly a nanny with her own child or an older semi-retired person who only wants part time work with a low level of hours.

Antrobus, Cheshire CW9: Nanny/Housekeeper/family PA: 32 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 12pm to 8pm
(will be moving to Hartford, Cheshire CW8 3AB – renovating new home – hope to be moved in by Easter 2018)
Children: Girl 5 and Boy 8 - both at the Grange School, Hartford ( 10 min drive from Antrobus, will be 10 min walk when move to Hartford)
Looking for a very caring, nurturing nanny – but also someone who is great at organising and running a busy household. This aspect will involve: all the family laundry, food shopping, devising meal plans for the week, cooking family meals, running ad hoc errands – and generally keeping home and family on an even keel. The family have a cleaner – so there will be no cleaning involved. Both parents works long hours (mother starting new job in Manchester) – so are needing someone who can take over the household aspects – to ensure that when she gets in from work – she can spend quality time with the children.
School Holidays: will keep same level of hours – but may be differently arranged as children likely to attend occasional holiday clubs etc. Driver essential. Start Sept 2017.

Cheshire SK11 (between Knutsford and Macclesfield): Daily Nanny full/part time:
Permanent daily Nanny needed for afterschool and full time school holiday care of 2 children aged 11 & 8. Negotiable with number of days per week: Current nanny leaving after 5 yrs does 3 days per week (but family can increase this to 5). Therefore working on an annualised contract with maximum hours as follows: 39 weeks: 3pm to 7pm Monday to Friday and 13 weeks: 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday on a salary between £12/£15 ph this will equate to £17.5 to £21.5k per annum. Additional hours also available through babysitting and overnights (overtime paid) Start date from July onwards. Experience with autism (11 yr old) an advantage. Driver plus car essential.

Appleton, Warrington WA4: Part time Nanny: Monday to Thursday: After school Nanny - (12-14 hours per week)
After school care for two children: boy age 8 and girl, age 6. Monday to Thursday during term time – and one or two days during school holidays (see below).
School pick up at 3.15 until 6.00. School is nearby but not walkable so require nanny with own transport. Duties will include preparing dinner, help with homework, possibly taking to clubs such as Rainbows and swimming lessons. Would ideally like someone who will also help with light housework such as ironing, tidying, keeping kitchen and dining area clean and possibly toy room as well. Family also looking for a cleaner so would consider offering 2 additional hours cleaning work in addition to the above to include cleaning bathrooms, windows, dusting and vacuuming. The Family have quite a few options – can be just Wednesdays 12-6pm – or after school/nursery pickup (3.25pm to 6pm) on Mondays and Tuesdays as well as the Wednesday half day. And if someone wants more hours they can add a morning school/nursery run on the 3 days.
Two children aged 5 & 3 yrs. School holidays: useful if could increase hours – but not essential. Driver preferred. Start Sept 2017.

Didsbury, Manchester M20: Part time Nanny: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
Minimum: After school 3pm to 6pm – can also add morning drop off to increase hours. Children: girl aged 4, boy aged 3 - both to attend school in Didsbury in Sept 2017 - to pick up from School and give healthy hot meal, support homework/play until 6pm.  Could involve drop off to school too and overseeing breakfast from 8am -9am or 7.45am-8.45am. Needs to be able to drive as school is a bit too far to walk.
School Holidays: May need more hours but would really want flexibility, as some of the school holidays the family will be away - but it may be helpful if the nanny could do full days for a couple of days on some weeks or maybe drop off and pick up at a summer camp which would be 9am-4pm type of hours. Start Sept 2017.

Chorley, Preston PR7: Full time Daily Nanny

Monday to Thursday 2/3pm to around 7pm – but very flexible. Two Children aged 12 and 10. Looking for minimum 8 hours per week which can be flexible and spread across 4 days (or two or three). Happy to discuss increase in hours (up to 20) for right candidate.
A person who can double as Mum if necessary picking up food etc, collect a child or drop them off. Housekeep by seeing what needs to be done, put in washing, take out, clean bathrooms, mop floor, dust, tidy kitchen, dog walk. Driver strongly preferred. Start ASAP.

Part time Nanny/Housekeeper: 3 days (possible increase to 4 days). Minimum 4 hours per day: 2/2.30 - 6/6.30 to allow some time to sort laundry, straighten things up & preparing dinner before collecting the boys (aged 3 and 2 yrs old) from school and nursery. Support worker/wrap around or after school care for teenage girl with Downs Syndrome.
Core hours are 3 pm to 7.30 pm. Ideally five days a week. But can manage 4 days for a great candidate. Ditto start time could move to 3.30 pm or 4.00 pm. But if more hours needed, then can be added. Eg: Morning drop off to school and Holiday full time support. Ideal is 8 am to 7 pm during holidays (but again negotiable). Hale, Altrincham WA14: Part time Nanny/Housekeeper (20/25 hours per week):
Busy full time working parents need an all-rounder nanny/housekeeper for 2 boys aged 4 and 7 yrs old. Monday to Friday: Hours would typically be between 2 or 3pm (start) to 7 or 8pm (finish). For school holidays, ideally would like children to attend holiday clubs so there is unlikely to be increased hours needed.
Childcare role includes: Picking up children from school, prepare fresh meals for children and family, do homework, reading and educational fun activities with the children. Can offer a couple of options: 1. Tuesday to Friday - Min 16-20 hours per week (with option to increase) or 2. Anything between 1 and 4 days per week – out of Tuesday to Friday (either just after school or morning run as well to increase the hours)
Family with one child aged 4 yrs old need a part time nanny- to do pick up from St Bede's in Whalley Range, Manchester at 3:30pm - and bring back home to Wilmslow at 3:30pm until parents return at 19:00. Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions of Business are between NETWORK 0 to 5 Ltd and an employer (the Client) and are deemed to be accepted by the Client by virtue of an interview, engagement or use of an Applicant introduced by the Agency.

1. Definitions:
1.1 In these Terms of Business: “The Agency” means NETWORK 0 to 5 Ltd.
1.2 “The Client” means any person or persons or company who approaches the Agency with a view to engaging or otherwise employing an Applicant or to whom an Applicant is introduced by the Agency
1.3 “The Applicant” means a person who is registered with the Agency for the purpose of seeking employment with a Client and is introduced by the Agency to the Client to be considered for an Engagement
1.4 “Engagement” means the employment, hire or other use, directly or indirectly and whether under a contract of service or otherwise, and on a permanent, temporary or other basis, of an Applicant, by or on behalf of the Client.


General Conditions:

2. The business of the Agency is to introduce prospective Clients and Applicants to each other. The Agency does not directly or indirectly employ the Applicant. The Client is the employer of the applicant and all PAYE and National Insurance contributions, together with any other statutory rights that the Applicant is entitled to, are the responsibility of the employer

3. The Client must inform the Agency immediately an engagement is arranged with the Applicant. Exact date of commencement of employment, number of hours/days and gross salary offered must be given at the same time, and also the length of stay if the position is temporary.

4. As soon as an engagement has been arranged and the Agency notified, the placement fee will be invoiced. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of the date of invoice. Please note that an engagement is deemed to be made and shall immediately commence when the terms of employment are agreed between the Client and the Applicant, and not on the date when the Applicant actually commences duties.

5. Accounts not settled in full, within the above time scale, may be subject to an interest charge at the rate of 5% above the prevailing base rate of Barclays bank plc. for every month or part month that the account remains outstanding.

6. The Agency fee relates to the successful introduction and engagement of one prospective employee only. Any future engagement through the Agency is subject to a full placement fee.

7. If a temporary placement becomes a permanent placement, the full permanent introduction fee becomes due and the appropriate additional fee will be charged, taking into consideration the temporary fee already paid, as per the Agency’s normal terms of business.

8. In cases where the applicant has been engaged on a temporary basis and the employment continues for a period longer than that for which the fee has been calculated, or on a permanent basis, the Agency must be notified immediately and the appropriate additional fee will be charged and will be payable as per normal terms of business


9. Should the Client subsequently re-engage the Applicant within 6 months from the date of termination or withdrawal of the offer, or engage an Applicant at a future date having previously declined the services of that Applicant, a full fee becomes payable.

10. Introductions and details of any Applicant given by the Agency are confidential. If an introduction is passed to another employer which results in an engagement the Client will be liable for the full fee.

11. If the Client engages an Applicant introduced by the Agency without informing the Agency we reserve the right to charge the full permanent introduction fee (irrespective of the length or condition of engagement). In these cases the Agency’s rebate/replacement terms do not apply.

12. In the case of an engagement involving the Applicant being shared between two or more Clients each of the Clients will be responsible for making arrangements satisfactory to themselves. Each of the Clients shall be jointly and severally responsible for payment of the total fee due to the Agency


Refund Terms:

13. If the relevant employment terminates within 8 weeks the Agency will endeavour to find a replacement at no extra cost (This will not apply if the employee was made redundant or if the employee left because the conditions of employment were misrepresented by the Client). If no suitable replacement can be found within 4 weeks of termination, the Agency will charge for the original introduction as if it had been a temporary engagement. Both of these conditions only apply if the Client notifies the Agency in writing within 2 days of the termination of employment and has paid the Agency’s fees within 7 days of the date of the invoice.

14.In the event that the agreement is cancelled by the Client, after a firm booking, prior to commencement, for whatever reason, the Client will be charged 25% of the Introduction Fee which would have been payable had the Candidate been engaged, in consideration of costs incurred by the Agency. Should an employee fail to take up the appointment after the engagement has been made the Agency will endeavour to provide a replacement at no further cost to the Client.


15. Whilst every care is taken in ensuring the suitability of any Applicant introduced to the Client, the final responsibility rests with the Client as to the Applicant’s suitability. All references provided by the Applicant and/or the Agency should be verified by the Client before engagement commences. The Agency does not give any warranty as to the suitability, history, character, honesty, age or capability of any Applicant introduced by the Agency though the Agency will always check a minimum of two references and wherever possible carry out a personal interview to satisfy itself that the applicant is suitable.

16.The Agency accepts no liability whatsoever for the contents of any draft Contract it may provide the Client with to enable the Client to enter into a written contract with the Applicant. Any draft Contract is supplied as a guide and has not been drawn up by a lawyer with any specific circumstances in mind. The Agency recommends that the Client obtains its own legal advice in relation to any Contract it wishes to enter into with the Applicant.

17. The Agency shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss, damage, or expense suffered or incurred by the Client arising from or in any way connected with the Agency seeking an Applicant for the Client or the introduction by the Agency to the Client of any Applicant or the engagement of any Applicant by the Client.

Complaints Procedure:

18. In the event that the Client wishes to complain about Network 0 to 5 Ltd., in the first instance, the complaint should be put in writing to Alison Brownlee, and an effort made to resolve any situation. If the situation has not been resolved to the Client’s satisfaction, then the letter of complaint will be passed on to the chair of the ANA Committee, and will be officially investigated.


19. The Employer and the Agency acknowledge and agree that the terms of this contract shall remain confidential and agree not to disclose, communicate or otherwise make public the same either directly or indirectly through a third party, save the professional advisers and relevant tax authorities, or otherwise as may be required by law. Furthermore, the parties hereby agree that they will not make, publish, or otherwise communicate any disparaging or derogatory statements, whether verbally, in writing or through any social media source or websites, concerning the other party hereto.‚Ä®Any complaints that may arise from either party will be dealt with in line with Network 0 to 5’s Complaints Procedure. (See clause 18). A failure to adhere to this clause risks the party in breach being subject to legal action by the other.

Fee Schedule

We have a very straightforward, transparent flat fee structure.. put in place so that we can keep the whole process within your budget right from the start… and you have the re-assurance of knowing that regardless of what you pay your nanny our fees will stay the same. We know that placement fees based on a percentage of the nanny’s salary or a multiple of a weeks salary are virtually impossible to clarify at the start of the process and you can end up paying considerably more than you budgeted for.

So we now keep our fees totally independent of salaries and simply calculated from the number of days/hours you will be employing a nanny...
and you still get the level of great, personalised service that we have always offered and are known for.
There are no hidden extras, no registration fee and no VAT to pay…the introduction fee is a one off payment that is only due if we are successful in placing a nanny with you - and we can also offer staggered fee payment options.

Our Guarantee and refund terms

We offer a straightforward no-quibble replacement free of charge if the employee leaves your employment within eight weeks.

If after four weeks we are unable to find a replacement, or you decide not to carry on with the search, we will refund your introduction fee (and only charge you a temporary fee for the time the employee worked for you)
